Children

1 Peter 2:2

1 Peter 2:2

Like newborn babes, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation.

After Thought

It is so important to have an appetite for the things of God. Babies gain nourishment directly from their relationship with their mother. We are to gain nourishment from our relationship with God.

Psalm 145:4

Psalm 145:4

Let each generation tell its children of your mighty acts; let them proclaim your power.

After Thought

Children learn what is most important to their parents by watching what they do more than by merely listening to what they say. Hypocrisy is learned as they observe the disagreement between words and actions.

Genesis 37:3

Genesis 37:3

Now Israel loved Joseph more than his other sons because Joseph was a son born to him in his old age, and he made a robe of many colors for him.

After Thought

Jacob (Israel) loved Joseph because he had a pure heart and was not like his brothers in their self serving ways. A coat of colors was usually worn by royalty, and would prove to be prophetic. Love sees the royalty in others.
