Isaiah 12:4

Isaiah 12:4

And in that day you will say, "Give thanks to the LORD, call on His name. Make known His deeds among the peoples; Make them remember that His name is exalted."

After Thought

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.

Luke 6:38

Luke 6:38

Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure-- pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.

Job 12:4

Job 12:4

I have become a laughingstock to my friends, though I called on God and he answered-- a mere laughingstock, though righteous and blameless!

After Thought

Have you ever had just one of those days when things don't work out as you had planned?

That's why the Bible reminds us that God is a very present help in a time of trouble. (Psalm 46:1)

Matthew 8:20

Jesus said to him, "The foxes have holes and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head."

After Thought

Jesus said this in response to a person who wanted to follow Him. It was not meant as a discouragement but as a reality check. To follow Jesus does not mean life becomes easier, but it will be more meaning--full.

Isaiah 66:13

Isaiah 66:13

As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you; And you will be comforted in Jerusalem.

After Thought

The Bible describes God as the God of all comfort in 2 Corinthians 1:3-5. He knows how to calm us when we are fearful and give us a sense of peace when troubled. William Shakespeare new this when he wrote, "Now, God be praised, that to believing souls gives light in darkness, comfort in despair."
