Loneliness

Job 19:14

Job 19:14

My relatives have failed, and my intimate friends have forgotten me.

After Thought

Real friends love and continue to love in adversity as well as prosperity. They remain to help give outward comfort and inner consolation. The Lord has taught them from the heart to never leave nor forsake.

Take time to reach out to someone today who could benefit from your contact.

Song of Solomon 2:1

Song of Solomon 2:1

I am a rose of Sharon, a lily of the valleys.

After Thought

The church may be compared to a "rose", for its beautiful color and sweet odor, and for its delight in sunny places, where it thrives best, and is most fragrant. No rose is perfect but even in its imperfection adds incredible beauty and is a symbol of love and what is lovely.

John 14:23

John 14:23

Jesus replied, "Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them."

After Thought

There is something wonderful about seeing someone excited at the arrival of a loved one. God loves those long for His appearing.

Psalm 71:9

Psalm 71:9

Do not cast me away when I am old; do not forsake me when my strength is gone.

After Thought

His faithful friend bore with him the burdens of youth and now he faithfully bears the burdens of her old age. She still gets to go where he goes. A true testament of love and friendship that mirrors God's promise that "He will never leave us nor forsake us." (Deuteronomy 31:6)

Hebrews 13:3

Hebrews 13:3

Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.

After Thought

For years I thought my assignment or the Church's assignment was to articulate the Gospel and nothing more. Now I believe that if we don't support the verbal expression of the Gospel with physical demonstration of compassion, we are not imitating Jesus.

1 Samuel 22:23

1 Samuel 22:23

Stay here with me, and don't be afraid. I will protect you with my own life, for the same person wants to kill us both.

After Thought

Evil seeks to divide and then conquer through isolation. But as William Shatner once wrote, "I've been in that angst of loneliness, where you're really alone in the universe, except for the dog."

Through our pets God constantly shows us the meaning of faithfulness.

James 1:27

James 1:27

Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.

After Thought

There is too much huff and puff and spit and spray spoken by many Christians. Real faith is an action based upon truth.
