Jeremiah 31:19

Jeremiah 31:19

After I strayed, I repented; I kicked myself for my stupidity! I was ashamed and humiliated because I bore the disgrace of my youth.

Psalm 141:3

Psalm 141:3

Set a guard over my mouth, LORD; keep watch over the door of my lips.

After Thought

The Bible says that "out of that which fills the heart the mouth speaks" (Luke 6:45). This explains why David wanted God to help control his speech so that in anger no vain or inappropriate word would come out during his prayer time that would defile it.
