Isaiah 42:3

Isaiah 42:3

A bruised reed He will not break and a dimly burning wick He will not extinguish; He will faithfully bring forth justice.

After Thought

I choose gentleness… Nothing is won by force. I choose to be gentle. If I raise my voice may it be only in praise. If I clench my fist, may it be only in prayer. If I make a demand, may it be only of myself.

Psalm 5:3

Psalm 5:3

In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.

After Thought

I love the way our pets teach us how to wait expectantly. Whether they are at a window awaiting our return, or looking for the slightest indication that we are about to give them attention, they are vigilant. It is a great illustration of expectant faith.

Isaiah 60:1

Isaiah 60:1

Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you.

After Thought

I am determined to be cheerful and happy in whatever situation I may find myself. For I have learned that the greater part of our misery or unhappiness is determined not by our circumstance but by our disposition.

John 15:11

John 15:11

These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.

After Thought

True friends are an encouraging echo of the truths of Christ. As Chuck Swindoll so wonderfully stated, "I cannot even imagine where I would be today were it not for that handful of friends who have given me a heart full of joy. Let's face it, friends make life a lot more fun

Psalm 77:4

Psalm 77:4

You have held my eyelids open; I am so troubled that I cannot speak.

After Thought

Jesus told us where to place our faith when trouble comes. He said, "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me."(John 14:1) He is the only founder of a religion who said He would prove who He was by rising from the dead. And He did. He didn't just make promises, He keeps them.

2 Corinthians 10:14

2 Corinthians 10:14

For we are not overextending ourselves, as if we did not reach to you, for we were the first to come even as far as you in the gospel of Christ;

After Thought

God goes to great lengths to reach us, and Christ commissioned the church to be His witnesses throughout the whole world. The message is one of good news which is for all people that there is a Savior, Christ the Lord.
