Matthew 5:44

Matthew 5:44

But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

After Thought

We must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive. He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love. There is some good in the worst of us and some evil in the best of us. When we discover this, we are less prone to hate our enemies.

Acts 22:16

Acts 22:16

And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on His name.

After Thought

In the same way a bath washes away dirt, baptism is a symbol of what God has done on the inside by cleansing us of our sins.

Isaiah 46:10

Isaiah 46:10

I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come.

After Thought

God sees the end from the beginning, and wants us to be outcome oriented. We need to look down the road and see the destination of our attitudes, words and actions. In other words, if I keep saying or doing certain things, where is this going to lead? What is the outcome going to be for me, my family, and my friends?

Matthew 7:4

Matthew 7:4

How can you think of saying to your friend, 'Let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,' when you can't see past the log in your own eye?

After Thought

This scripture is a simple reminder that sometimes the best thing we can do to help those around us is to get help for ourselves.
