Angry

Exodus 20:12

Exodus 20:12

Honor your father and mother. Then you will live a long, full life in the land the LORD your God is giving you.

After Thought

This commandment carries with it a promise of blessing for those who follow it. Because there are no perfect parents this can also be an opportunity to live the "golden rule." Do to others as you would have them do to you.

Psalm 139:23-24

23 Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. 24 See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

God is the greatest heart specialist. His heart exam discovers and treats blockages that hinder His love coming to us and through us.

Proverbs 19:11

Proverbs 19:11

Good sense makes one slow to anger, and it is his glory to overlook an offense.

After Thought

The goal of every Christian is to overcome evil with good. The Bible does not say we will never be justified in being angry, but that anger does not give us excuse to sin, nor is it to be of long duration. The Bible says, "In your anger do not sin: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry." (Ephesians 4:26)
